Album Release: The End of All Things

Dear Readers,

I’m happy to announce that I have new album, The End of All Things, scheduled for release on December 3rd! To pre-save the music (whatever that means) on Spotify or Apple Music, you can go here: https://artists.landr.com/692531132727.

You may be wondering about that title.

When I set out to make this album, I had a few goals in mind but I was mostly looking for a slower, ambient feel. Looking at my notes, this is what I wrote on March 30, 2021:

At first, I went through the process of creating songs and did not use any drum track at all but later decided to go a different path adding drums to existing songs and to all those I created after. I kept it minimal in most cases, sticking with my original goal.

Having felt like I met my goals and ready to put a wrap on the project, I went through my standard process: mix, master, and have a naming party! It was during the naming process that the story really took shape and the story took on a sadder tone than I perhaps originally intended.

The End of All Things became a story about relationships, loss, and all the feelings you have in between. For me, the story takes on that of two people who had built a life together. They were happy and had all the things that you’d associate to a happy and healthy relationship, but then one of those people were taken away from the relationship. Whatever the reason, the remaining person that remains is angry, grieving, wishing it could have been them instead.

From the viewpoint of that remaining person, we work our way through the relationship – remembering the good times at first and then becoming bitter about being left alone and being unable to connect to the world that is still around us… Drifting aimlessly until finally coming to some form of acceptance. It’s a realization that all things end, and that’s okay.

I really enjoyed creating this album and feel like I’ve created something pretty good here. I hope that you enjoy listening to it! I will post a reminder on December 3rd so don’t worry about marking your calendars…

Sincerely,

Achira
